I got a 100%.
Since I was little I liked arguing/fighting for what I believed. After a while I realized i had a calling to practice law, that's why I've always wanted to go to Harvard Law School. For the class of 2016 Harvard has an acceptance rate of 5.9% which is a little discouraging but I still think I'm smart enough to get in. The curriculum features more than 260 courses. It is one of highest ranking school in the United States for a good reason. The school was founded in 1817 by Joseph Story and Simon Greenleaf. It the oldest continuously operating law school in the United States. The current dean of the school is Martha Minow, who assumed role on July 1, 2009. Harvard is located in Cambridge, MA 02138 and is home to the largest academic law library in the world. It has a student body of approximately 1,900 and a faculty of 250 but only 100 of those 250 are full-time professors, the rest are just visiting professors. That's why I'd love to got to Harvard. It's diverse and has educated many influential leaders today. Questions:

CHAPTER 1 At the break of dawn I found myself laying, wide awake, in my bed staring at my mahogany ceiling fan. My mother told me it was a gift from this guy Stan who allegedly is my great granduncle, who no one, at least in my generation, has met. But back to the real problem here…why am I awake?! This always happens the morning we’re supposed to leave to go camping. I guess it’s my body subconsciously telling me to be ready for one of three reasons: to not end up left behind, to not hear my mother’s mind numbing screams to hurry up or to make sure I don’t forget something important, like my toothbrush. Why does my mind have an alarm clock to make sure I’m ready for this stupid trip? The answer is... I have no idea. To be honest, the place is a tad creepy, but not really to me. I mean sure it’s way in the mountains of Helen, Georgia, practically the middle of nowhere, but that’s what makes it great; a place of peace and quiet where no one can get to you. But every year something strange and supernatural happens. For instance, three years ago Little Johnny went into the woods to find his missing baseball. Then before you know it he comes running out, screaming about fairies trying to kill him. Now think about it. Why would fairies, the nicest of all magical creatures, be trying to kill a four-year-old, chubby, blonde, fair-haired boy with just the right amount of freckles on his cheeks and bridge of his nose? You might be wondering how I know fairies are the nicest of all magical creatures. Well seeing that I’m a fifteen-year-old virgin with no interest in any type of sexual exploration, guys don’t want to talk to me. And I guess you could say I have an “A1” body and a cute face and voluptuous hair according to my 14-year-old sister, Faith, who always says to me, “Oh Alysa you have so much potential to be a baddie. You’re so idyllic...but in a good way of course. And I mean look at your hair! It’s always shiny and curly all the way down to your lower back, and your face is absolutely flawless. You always have nice pink lips and straight eyebrows, and your eyes are the prettiest mixture of teal and lime green.” I’d grab my hair back from her hands saying, “I mean I guess, but I’m not as concerned as you, so I don’t really pay attention to looks.” Offended, she’d walk out of my room with one last remark, “Obviously.” But that is why girls don’t like me, because I guess I’m intimidating to them. So I tend to stick to myself and keep my nose in fantasy fiction books and my mind on magical fairies. “Come on Faith, get up,we’re going to be late!” yelled Mom. “Okay. Gosh you don’t have to yell!” Well it seems my daydreaming must come to a halt, before I’m next. CHAPTER 2 Finally, with bags packed and my sister still in her pajamas, sprawled out next to me, giving me absolutely no leg room even though I’m the one with long legs, not her, listening to her loud ratchet music; we’re on our way to Helen. Personally I think I'm the only one in my family that actually likes the outdoors. I’ve always loved nature and everything in it according to my mom’s stories of my wild adventures in my adolescent years. Like this one time, at the age of five, I was able to calm a highly upset rottweiler raging with frustration and anger. My mom says that it seemed as though I could read the dog’s thoughts and understand exactly what was wrong. The problem was that he had a splinter and I got rid of it for him. That’s why I love the ride to Helen. I can look out the window and see the beautiful surroundings whip past in, what feels like, warp speed. “What are you looking at?” interrupting my peaceful silence, says my sister. “Nothing I guess. I'm just admiring nature.” “You’re so weird,” was her last words before she put her headphones back in. I noticed that we’re pulling into the campsite so I tapped Faith on the head and told her that it’s time to get ready to unload. My mom suddenly comes to an abrupt stop, making both me and my sister’s heads hit the seat in front of us. Sue was standing right in front of the car. My mom rolled down the window and asked what she wanted. There was no answer. Annoyed now, my mother orders me to get out of the car to see what she wants so we can get to our cabin. I do as she says. “Hey Sue what’s up, why won’t you move out of the way?” “I’ve been awaiting your arrival princess, come with me.” Curious to know what she was talking about and why she’d just called me princess, I followed. She led me straight into the woods. “Hey Sue where are we going... where are you taking me?” In response all she said was, “The Labyrinth.” All of a sudden, as we’re walking through this forest, these flying creatures start to invade my personal space by swarming around my face. When I swat them all away, 1) I realize that the flying creatures resemble fairies, which didn’t freak me out for some peculiar reason, and 2) that we had somehow magically arrived at this arch that, in ancient greek, had Entrance to the Labyrinth engraved in the stone at its very peak. I looked over at Sue and she pointed for me to lead the way. Shockingly enough I did; I had this strange feeling that I’d been here before. I didn’t know what my destination would be but I knew the way to it. CHAPTER 3 At the heart of the labyrinth, I saw what seemed like an infinitely tall tree that was so full of life it almost looked ambulatory. After looking up and down this gigantic tree, I noticed a half-goat-half-hellboy-looking creature that appeared to be frozen in time. After circling around it a couple times to examine it, I touched it. As soon as I did so, it gave one good shudder and sprang to life. “Ahhhhhh, at last Princess you have returned!” it shouted gleefully. Shocked, I recoiled backwards and was at a loss for words. “Oh Princess don’t be frightened”, the creature said. “I’m not, just shocked at your sudden revival is all and your fetid stench.” He let out a sigh of relief and gave an inviting smile. “Why do you and Sue keep calling me Princess? Oh wait, what happened to Sue, why is she acting so strange?” I asked. “I sent her to retrieve you and bring you here. She was under a trance, but she should be fine now. I keep calling you Princess, simply because that’s what you are. In fact, that’s what your name means.” “Wow, didn’t know that but how do you figure that I’m a princess?” “Your Highness, your real father is the King of the Underworld so you are the Princess. Haven’t you noticed how you have a slightly nefarious nature but love being outside and you have an unexplainable connection with the creatures that dwell in the one place you’re most comfortable?” This all should have been overwhelming and a lot to take in but surprisingly, to me it all made sense. It was almost a relieving reason to escape from the confines of my normal basic life. “Wow, this is kind of amazing. One day I’m a nobody and then next I’m the Princess of the Underworld,” I said filled with wonder. “Well I’m glad you’re excited your Highness. Would you like to come home and return to your real family?” the creature asked while reaching out an inviting hand. Turning away I said,”Well wait, what will happen to my mother and sister?” “Don’t worry about you mother, she’s always known this was your destiny. That’s why she brings you to this campsite every year. She’ll make up something to tell your sister. So hurry. We don’t have much time.” I decided to trust this creature and go to the Underworld, my real home, with him. He guided me towards the huge tree and then we were there. My father was waiting for me. As soon as I came out of the tree, except this time in the Underworld, he gave me a great big hug and suddenly all of my memories from a past life with him came flooding back. I felt overwhelmed and started crying while atoning for keeping him waiting all this time. He calmed me and said,”It’s alright, I’m just glad you're home now.” From then on, I lived happily in the Underworld and occasionally my father would let me go back to the mortal world to visit my mother and sister. |
